As has always been the case, industrial technicians are a mobile workforce and with their mass adoption of smartphones, they are early adopters of mobile in the workplace.

Industrial companies’ repair and maintenance manuals and associated data (customer service emails / texts / calls, message boards, CS programs) have never successfully been activated into an easily digestible and portable search format.

A technician working on a car, plane, elevator or even a compressor today must place their tools down, move away from the machine and search for repair data.

What if they could simply type a keyword query or ask a question and get an answer via their smartphone or tablet without setting down their tools? How would this change not only the economics of repairing a machine but also the confidence of that technician?
